- Prepare 1/2 kg of carrot.
- Prepare 1/2 ltr of or 2 cup full fat milk.
- You need 1/2 cup of sugar.
- Prepare 4 of cardamom pods / 1/2 tsp cardamom powder.
- You need 2 Tbsp of desi ghee.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of khoya/mava.
- It's Handful of nuts(cashew, pistachio, almond, walnut).

- Preparation for carrot halwa- - 1)Choose tender or young carrots that are fresh. 2)Wash carrots under running water. 3)Peel them and grate in a food processor or with a hand grater. Set this aside. 4)Dry roast nuts on a low heat until crunchy. You can also chop them first and fry in ghee if you prefer. 5)Set aside to cool and chop them..
- Method:— 1)Bring milk to a boil in a heavy bottom pot or deep pan. 2)Add grated carrots and begin to stir..
- 3)Cook until the milk has completely evaporated. 4)Keep stirring constsntly in between to prevent burning..
- 5)Add sugar and stir. Sugar would release lot of moisture. 6)Cook until half the moisture evaporates..
- 7)Add ghee and cardamom powder and stir well. Continue to cook until the moisture evaporates and the halwa thickens..
